Håkon's music section

My first cd! At least my first home-burnt cd with my own creations!

A decade
(Current worktitle)

Equipment:

Songs 1-11: SoundBlaster AWE32, 8MB SoundFont based on things found on the net, pluss samples from my own gibson replica guitar with a roland distortion box. Created using Cakewalk, and the "virtual piano"... theese songs was created before I aquired a midi-keyboard with a real pitch. so be gentle with me...
Mostly hand sequenced and recorded from keyboard and mouse (as pitch... try hacking up a Van Halen guitar solo with a smudgy mouse on a 1 cm long slider... _that's_ a real challenge, I can tell you...).
Song 12: FutureTracker 2

Downloadable mp3's

song 1 : Next Generation - 5:16 My latest creation

song 2 : The Pizzaman Is Dead - 1:46 - named by the pizza-strings sample used... quite boring, and has no good ending...

song 3 : Another Try - 1.52 - Experimenting with some echo -effects, quite old song. resembles c64 style,
some cool guitars, but sounds a bit naive...

song 4 : Naughty Action - 3:32 - a bit trance like, but at the same time a soft melody. the rythm gets
to booring and it has no ending.

song 5: Sadio - 3:51 one of my early experiments on Cakewalk, has a "horror-film" beginning, fades over to a
nice and rich melody (IMHO), with piano guitar, and strings, one of my favorites, but has a lame ending

song 6: Sick - 2:55 - experimental weird beginning goes into a fast and happy melody, has a somewhat cool
"classical" solo, a weird song...

song 7 : The Subspot - 4:08  - One of my latest melodies, it began very nice, but I feel I destroyed it somehow...
not to bad anyway... very melodious and has some cool sections...

song 8: Harmonix - 3:27Early days in Cakewalk, got very melodious, but has some "quirks" here and there, espessially the guitar sliding, it's a bit hard to use a mouse on the panner... ;-) a rework on this song and it may have a future... (Anyone has a real midi-keyboard to sell? with a panner?)

song 9: Sad - 1:10 - Just a short tune to try something out... hasn't evolved into a fully song yet...

song 10 : Trance (slow) - 1:09 - Hmm, tried to capture a trance melody that evolved in my head, but I failed...
at the time I had put down the melody into CW, it disappeared...

song 11: Now - 1:08 - Another small tune, unfinished, kinda Tolkien -inspired...

song 12: Extasia - 5:59 - (FutureTracker 2) old one, but I'm very satisfied with this song, (sorry for the bad mp3 quality, I recorded it a bit loud in the convertion, so it got distorted a bit. And the stereo-separation is quite wide open due to the old tracker...) quite "raw" and effect-full!

 The Future

"Oh no, no more songs from this amateur dude!"
Well, I've aquired an old midi-synth now, a Roland JV-80 (quite nice piano sounds) that I've experimented a bit with... still no finished tunes, but some are in the works. (you may guess why the first cd is called "A decade"... rigth... there will probably go another decade before my next cd is ready.... probably not worth waiting for, but if inspiration is flowing, you may visit this page in the future and have a peek if something new has come up... ;)
